From a translation of the Tao, which I finally bought yesterday. This passage has a lot of relevance right now. It refers to favor as the approval of others:
Favor debases us.
Afraid when we get it,
Afraid when we lose it.

She said yes!
I finally got up the nerve to ask on Friday. I'm pretty infatuated.. we spent like 10 hours together on Saturday. I was supposed to be doing a project but this was way better.
Running is coming along. I've decided to go with a kind of HIITS, but kind of brought down to the level of my fitness. Which is low. Cardiovascularly, at least.
Yeah, I know that's not a word. Shut up.

Back at level 1
Whew.
Went for a run this morning. Was out for maybe 10 minutes and was done. Holy balls. Haven't run since last summer. So I've decided that this sedentary lifestyle has reset my cardio system to level 1. I need to level back up before heading to Hawaii at the end of April. Here's hoping I make it. Felt like I was having a goddamn heart attack by the time I was back home. Tomorrow morning will be run number two, I might hit level 2 by the end of it. Guess we'll see.

Oops
Where does the seventeen days go? Well the first week or so was due to the fact that my main desktop exploded. Three different blue screens, problems booting into Windows, yadda yadda, bought new computer. It's awesome. Cost about 1100 bucks though with Windows 7 and all that, but I like it. Hopefully this one will last more than 16 months.
I've come to the realization, pretty much just now, that I don't find anything new or exciting any more. If I ever did. I can't help the feeling that I'm doing something wrong, because I know that there are supposed to be exciting things everywhere... right? Perhaps it's just the end-winter blues or the midterm blues or the I-can't-muster-the-courage-to-ask-out-an-amazing-girl blues. I need something to change. Or I need to make something change. I'm looking to the future to take a trip off this continent, but what about before that? I've still got a year before I'm free to go do what I want to.
I know what I want, but I need to make myself reach out and take it.
Also, tell all your friends. www.grooveshark.com is an incredible online service. Think iTunes, but it's an almost infinite library and it's streaming online.

Hmm
Not much to recall for today. I think I did some pushups and lifts this morning, can't remember. Dammit, this is why I started this, so I would remember.
- Mini Wheats for breakfast.
- Unremarkable classes from 930-1400.
- That quiz in my SQL/database course went decently I think. Not very difficult.
- Erm... had an apple fritter and tea from Tim's today. Those apple fritters are awesome for 85 cents.
- Went to Save-On and got some milk, some Jones soda (12 for 9 bucks yay), pepperoni which is awesome, and some Doritos. Named 'Scream Cheese'. Some dude won 25 grand for that name. How hard could that have been?

I Think Ur A
It pains me to write "you're" as "ur" but I have to do it. Vampire Weekend's Contra album has been stuck in my head all day. It's silly.
Not a bad day altogether. Did 41 pushups before going to class this morning, which I think is not bad, considering how I was when I started. Did 10 curls, too. My upper arms need help badly. They're practically the same size as my forearms, which is never good.
Made a three-egg broccoli omelette this morning. It turned out magically, I don't know when I learned to make omelettes but it seems to be working. Plus the combination of broccoli and eggs is fantastic. Very much recommend.
Finally managed to get a hold of Sarah at Subnet, got my start date hammered out (May 10th! I get a whole week to move and settle in. Beautiful.) and such, so that's good. This term may turn out to be good, or may be hell. I'm hoping for the former.
That lab today was alright. I've always enjoyed putting code to computer and making things work. Even with an abortion of a language like VHDL. I just kind of wish I was taught a bit about the language before I had to make things out of it, but what are you gonna do.
Spent the evening gaming. Played MW2 with Jerome for a few hours, and then a couple hours of Mass Effect 1, until I died at a big boss and realized I hadn't saved since the beginning of a planet. That's always enough to make me nerd rage quit.
Have a lecture quiz tomorrow in my database/SQL course. Maybe should have boned up on my relational algebra and SQL syntax. Oh well, I'll just wing it. I don't really need good marks in anything, as long as I can pass my courses.
Busted out a couple more sets of curls before bed, time to go catatonic for a little under 8 hours.
