And so on

Blorf. It's days like this that make me want to just up and quit. Already can't wait for Reading Week, hopefully a week full of relaxation and de-stress. Allow me to illustrate:

  • Alarmed at 700, up at 710 to shower and eat breakfast, mini wheats and yogurt.
  • Out the door at 8:15 for my seminar that starts at 830. Guaranteed to be late. Meh.
  • Hour long seminar leads into 80 minute lecture of same class via quiz. Admittedly, quiz went decently. Expect about 7/10. That's what passes for decent these days I guess.
  • Immediately segue into another 80 minute lecture on SQL. Have trouble staying awake.
  • Once again, immediately move to an 80 minute lecture on VHDL JTAG structure. Eat a piece of Pizza 73 Deluxe. Does not feel good. Spend most of class looking at funny pictures on a friend's laptop. Don't learn anything.
  • An 80 minute lab on SQL, translating english to relational algebra to SQL statements. Not too difficult, but still torturous.
  • For those keeping score at home, I had classes from 830 until 330 without a break. It's kind of like a work day, except it's not over yet.
  • Call Subnet to discuss my offer letter at 430. Future supervisor says she'll call me right back. Doesn't. Come on, now. Maybe tomorrow I guess.
  • Do a pre-lab that's actually doing the lab. Question 4 of pre-lab is literally "Write all the code you're going to use during this lab". Bleargh.
  • Call parents for a 15 minute conversation to let them know that I don't know anything about my job still.
  • Almost write down answer for first question of assignment due tomorrow. Stress, laziness, nihilism, put down pencil. Fuck it. The entire assignment weight is 5%, I'm not going to waste my energy. Oh no wait, I don't have any more to waste.
  • Spend a couple hours playing WoW.
It almost doesn't look so bad on paper. I guess you have to do this every day for something around 4 years of your life now to get crushed by it all. Can't wait to go back to a 9-5ish job where I can go home and not have to keep doing the job.
For those of you keeping track at home, keep an eye out. This is the flavor of most posts! I warned you, it's only something of a life.
